The guided tour of Siena organised by Cortona Tourist Guide begins from the Basilica of San Domenico, where an important relic of Saint Catherine of Siena, co-patron saint of Europe, is on display.
Then we will see the old headquarters of the old bank Banca Monte dei Paschi and, walking along the main street characterised by refined shops and local products shops, we will get to Piazza del Campo, the beating heart of Siena, where the renowned Palio is held twice a year. Here we will be enchanted by the magnificence, richness and elegance of the monuments overlooking the square: Palazzo Pubblico, Torre del Mangia and Fonte Gaia.
The guided tour will continue with a visit of the Baptistery and the Cathedral: it will be possible to get inside to admire some wonderful works of art.
Half a day (max 3 hours) The tour might be extended to a full day (max 6 hours) upon request to visit one of the city museums: Museo Civico, Pinacoteca Nazionale or Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.
